Ashish Chanchlani’s Second Disaster After Varanasi?

Ashish Chanchlani Ekaki review update

Ashish Chanchlani, one of India’s most popular comedy YouTubers, released the first episode of his long-awaited horror comedy show Ekaki. However, the response so far has been mixed, and many fans appear disappointed.

After taking a long break and spending 1000 days on this special project, Ashish Chanchlani aimed to make a strong comeback. He released Ekaki Chapter 1: Presence for free on his YouTube channel.

The story follows a group of friends who visit a villa for fun but soon encounter a disturbing presence. Viewers took to social media to share that the humour and performances felt forced.

Many expected Ekaki to deliver big, based on the promises made by the YouTuber. But a section of fans rejected his attempt to mix comedy and horror in the first chapter. While the production looks decent, the dialogues and acting performances are being described as underwhelming when compared to his earlier sketches.

Viewers also compared Ekaki to Bhuvan Bam’s Dhindora and Taaza Khabar and felt that those shows were far ahead in terms of execution. Some users pointed out that Ashish Chanchlani took almost two years to bring this show forward, which raised expectations even higher.

Ashish Chanchlani recently faced backlash for his hosting at the Varanasi globetrotter event. Many users online are calling Ekaki his second disaster after the Varanasi event.

While the pilot episode has received mixed reactions, it remains to be seen whether Ekaki will improve in the coming chapters.
