OTT fans are in for a treat this week with a wide variety of new releases dropping from 4th to 10th August. Whether you’re in the mood for thrillers, romance, political drama, or regional comedy, there’s something for every kind of viewer. From much-awaited sequels to fresh original films and series, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and English titles are streaming across Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Zee5 and other platforms.
The Tamil-language drama Trending, streaming on SunNxt from 8th August, follows a popular vlogger couple whose obsession with fame starts affecting their personal lives. On the same day, Maaman on Zee5 explores a complex emotional bond between a maternal uncle and his nephew, while Parandhu Po (JioHotstar) takes viewers on a heartfelt road trip with a father and son duo.
Netflix brings Oho Enthan Baby, a film about a heartbroken filmmaker who tries to turn his story into a movie but starts doubting the ending and reality itself. Political thriller fans can watch Mayasabha on Sony Liv (7th Aug), set in the politically charged decades of Andhra Pradesh. Mickey 17, a sci-fi thriller about a clone’s identity crisis, is streaming on JioHotstar from 7th August.
On 8th August, JioHotstar adds a Hindi spy thriller titled Salakaar, while Yaadhumariyaan on Aha Video plunges into horror as a forest getaway turns deadly. Saina Play streams the Malayalam comedy-drama Nadikar, and Etv Win offers Badmashulu, a Telugu comedy about two mischief-makers in a chaotic village.
Prime Video adds Arabia Kadali, a Telugu-language survival drama about fishermen trapped in foreign waters, and Diamonds, an Italian thriller involving obsession and murder. Another Italian title, also called Diamonds, tells a story about actresses reminiscing through cinema costume memories.
Romance drama Mothevari Love Story (Zee5) shows a village couple’s love story shaken by a family secret. Kannada-language film Hebbuli Cut (SunNxt) highlights societal injustice through a boy’s simple wish for a trendy haircut. Red Letter on ShemarooMe (9th August) promises a suspense thriller.
Prime Video’s The Pick Up (6th Aug) is a fast-paced action film about two drivers caught in a dangerous heist, while Photo, a Kannada film set during the COVID-19 lockdown, explores a father’s struggles. The English-language M3GAN sequel (BookMyShow) returns with more AI-driven chaos and a deadlier version of the robot.
JioHotstar’s Love Hurts, starring Ke Huy Quan, and the survival drama To Die Alone (BookMyShow) stream on 7th August. Another Hindi-language entry, Evening Shadows, presents a touching mother-son tale set in South India and Mumbai, available on BookMyShow from 8th August.
Arabic film Way Home, about a father smuggled into Syria in search of his son, premieres on 9th August. For reality show fans, India’s Biggest Foodie Season 1 (JioHotstar) is already streaming since 4th August.
More new additions include Pretty Thing, an erotic thriller (Lionsgate Play), Stolen Heist Of The Century, a Netflix docu-film on the Antwerp diamond robbery, and French drama A Mother’s Special Love (BookMyShow) about a single mother and her autistic son.
Japanese title Doctor X: The Movie Final (Prime Video – 5th Aug) marks a dramatic finale for freelance surgeon Michiko Daimon. Comedy fans can check out Platonic Season 2 (Apple TV), while Bindiya Ke Bahubali on MX Player (8th Aug) brings a rural story led by a strong female character.
Finally, Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 (Netflix – 6th Aug) continues the adventures of the iconic Addams family member, and The Yogurt Shop Murders (JioHotstar – 3rd Aug) reopens a chilling real-life mystery from 1991.
With such a packed schedule, this week’s OTT releases offer endless binge-worthy options across genres and languages.
