The recently released series Raakh has created a lot of buzz post its release, especially because the story is adapted from a real-life event.
We are talking about the infamous Ranga-Billa case when the duo kidnapped Sanjay and Geeta Chopra, two children, and murdered them.
The story, star cast, and everything else was superb, until a controversy sprang up.
An X user alleged that in one of the scenes, one of the characters, Jayprakash, played by Ali Fazal, is opening his tiffin showcasing beef curry.
After that, his father, a retired constable, is seen encouraging another Brahmin policeman to taste the curry by chiding him for having potato curry every day.
Now, the problem is that the entire narrative is incorrect, and many social media users have already pointed it out.
The main crux is that the tiffin had mutton curry and not beef. In fact, one of the episodes of the series is also called Mutton Wale Bauji Ka Beta.
The central character, SI Jayprakash, is the son of a retired constable who is also good at making mutton curries.
And yes, he loves to make people eat, so almost every person at the police station consume the food brought by him.
Now, this allegation regarding beef being served, which is completely false, is questioned by other netizens.
Some users called out the specific X account directly for spreading fake news.
Others who haven’t seen the series yet are arguing that the image posted on the account is not of beef but of chicken or mutton.
Now, the question is: why create so much chaos around a scene? That too without having a proper narrative?
This clearly shows some propaganda-based mindsets of people who simply want to create some controversy one way or the other.
Now, it is yet to be seen how the makers of Raakh also react to this fake allegation on social media, or they keep mum entirely.
In this scene, a Scheduled Caste character named Jayprakash Jatav opens his tiffin revealing beef, only for the very next shot to show his father urging a Mishra ji (Brahmin) to enjoy the non-vegetarian food.
The dialogue mocks the Brahmin’s fasting and dismisses vegetarian… pic.twitter.com/GHi1yTjtGY
