We are indeed great witnesses to the trifecta promising a plethora of good content. Previously, ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’ made us fall in love with Anderson all over again, with picturesque direction. He also gifted fans a great story.
And if you thought that was the pinnacle of his filmmaking, you couldn’t be more wrong. He drops two more delicious cuisines for the fans, and it’s ‘The Swan’ that marks his debut in proper horror. Now, this horror is not like supernatural horror but more of a psychological one, which seems to be relatable.
The film currently sits with an IMDb rating of 7, and on Tomatometer, it has a comfortable 83% score.
This is a straightforward narrative featuring a young boy who faces challenges from two bullies. As the story unfolds, the bullies’ behavior becomes increasingly intense and unpredictable.
Obviously, the story is promising and gripping, a new essence that Anderson brings to his style. Also, the narrative storytelling always feels good for a change as the narration practically walks us through the entirety of the story.
One beautiful thing about the narration is that it is indeed spot-on. As the story progresses, the narration gets more and more intense, going really well with the pace.
Now, you also get the traditional Wes Anderson component in this film. From amazing sets to a trippy color palette, this will leave a good taste.
The movie is currently streaming on Netflix from September 28th. You can also stream it in various Indian languages such as Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
