Trailer Talk: Too Many Stars, But Where’s the Comedy?

Welcome To The Jungle trailer scene

The trailer of Welcome To The Jungle was expected to deliver a nostalgic dose of Bollywood comedy. Instead, it has generated mixed reactions among viewers.

While some audiences are excited to see Akshay Kumar return to the comedy genre alongside familiar faces, others feel the trailer relies more on chaos than humour.

Running for more than four minutes, the trailer packs in jungle adventures, action sequences, mistaken identities and slapstick comedy. It also features a massive ensemble cast, making it difficult for some viewers to keep track of the characters.

For a section of the audience, the film’s approach brings back memories of classic masala entertainers. Others believe the trailer feels overcrowded and overwhelming.

Several viewers have also criticised the visual effects and action sequences. Some social media users felt the jungle setting appeared artificial and lacked the realism expected from a large-scale production.

Comedy has emerged as the most discussed aspect of the trailer. The film appears to continue the loud and exaggerated humour associated with the Welcome franchise, but not everyone is convinced by the approach.

Many online reactions described the jokes as outdated and less effective for contemporary audiences. Some viewers felt the humour did not match the charm of earlier films in the series.

Despite the criticism, the trailer has received praise for its nostalgic moments. Seeing Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal together again reminded many fans of the chemistry that made films like Hera Pheri memorable.

A few dialogues from the trailer have also gained attention on social media and are being widely shared by fans.

However, the absence of two key franchise figures remains a major talking point. Many viewers feel that Welcome is incomplete without Anil Kapoor as Majnu Bhai and Nana Patekar as Uday Shetty.

Their chemistry played a significant role in the popularity of the earlier films. Many fans remain uncertain whether the new cast can fully recreate that dynamic.

The film also features actors such as Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani.

Meanwhile, Daler Mehndi’s appearance in the trailer also attracted mixed responses, with some viewers questioning whether those portions were necessary.

For now, audience reactions remain divided. The film’s final reception will become clearer after its theatrical release on June 26.
