Alia Gets Unfair Advantage Again? Who’s to Blame?

Alia Bhatt in Jigra controversy

Fans are thrilled to see Alia Bhatt in YRF’s upcoming film Alpha. After her strong performance in Jigra, many feel she fits perfectly into the spy-verse.

However, few know that Jigra was originally written for Radhika Madan, not Alia. In an older interview, director Vasan Bala revealed that the script reached Alia before he could even complete it.

This revelation has resurfaced online, and fans now accuse Dharma Productions of allegedly replacing an outsider with Alia. Many believe this is another case where a star kid benefited at the cost of emerging talent.

The controversy reignited discussions about how Karan Johar continues to promote star kids. When asked about being called “Nepo Daddy,” Karan said such labels come from people who don’t know him personally. He claimed the audience itself creates stars by following and hyping them.

Still, fans argue that much of this attention is manufactured. They allege that PR teams and paparazzi play a major role in promoting celebrity kids, flooding social media with their images and stories.

Many also question why Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan keep getting big projects despite repeated box office failures, while talented newcomers barely get a chance.

In the last fifteen years, Alia Bhatt remains Dharma’s only truly successful launch. Though she’s a strong actor and has won praise for her performances, fans feel that outsiders are often sidelined to favour her.

The issue, fans say, is not nepotism itself but the lack of fair opportunity. They want to see talent rewarded over connections. Whether Bollywood continues to back privilege or gives space to fresh talent now lies in the audience’s hands.
