The Ba***ds of Bollywood has created strong buzz since its release. It also came under legal focus. The show presents satire on Bollywood and the issues that continue to affect the industry.
A video clip from the show recently went viral. A character resembling Sameer Wankhede was shown in a comical manner. Sameer is the narcotics official who handled Aryan Khan’s Cordelia Cruise case.
Aryan in his directorial venture takes a dig at Bollywood and its many layers. He even makes a sarcastic remark on himself by adding the drug case. But Sameer clearly did not like a character that appeared similar to him.
Sameer moved to court and the legal hearing was set for 27 November 2025. The legal team of SRK’s Red Chillies has now clarified that their aim is to blend satire and fiction. They said both can co exist without intent to harm.
They defended the show by saying they have the right to portray social evils in Bollywood. They added that any similarity to real people is only coincidental. Sameer has filed a defamation case of 2 crore rupees. It remains to be seen how the court will respond.
