
After the global success of RRR, Ram Charan’s much-anticipated film Game Changer was released as a Sankranti treat. Despite the grand release, the film faced an outright rejection right from the first show, and it struggled to perform at the box office.
Directed by Shankar and produced by Dil Raju as his 50th film, Game Changer had an enormous budget of around ₹450 crore. However, the film’s disastrous performance led to huge financial losses for Dil Raju.

The film faced severe backlash on social media, with netizens openly trolling it. The situation worsened when director Shankar himself expressed dissatisfaction with the film’s output.
In a statement, he revealed that he couldn’t make proper use of the 5-hour footage he had shot, further fueling the negative buzz surrounding the movie.

Sources suggest there were multiple reasons for Game Changer’s failure, particularly with the story provided by director Karthik Subbaraj.
Inside reports claim that Shankar failed to utilize Karthik’s script effectively. Ram Charan’s role Appanna was the foundation for Game Changer’s story and was the main soul of the film. The tribal track shown in the flashback portion forms the main crux of the story.

But Shankar chose to shorten its duration to just odd 15 minutes and added an irrelevant revenge track instead. He just wasted the potential of Karthik Subbaraj’s storyline which focuses on doing politics with no money which was completely sidelined.
Because of Shankar’s poor handling of the subject, Karthik Subbaraj also got a bad name.
