The newly announced pan-India mythological collaboration between global star Jr NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas has run into a major political storm in Tamil Nadu
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) party chief Seeman has issued a strong warning to the filmmakers, demanding an immediate halt to the project.
The controversy centers around the cultural portrayal and historical origins of Lord Subramanya Swamy, also revered deeply as Lord Murugan.
The friction initially ignited when producer S. Naga Vamsi shared an announcement poster with the tagline, “Born in the North. Forged in the Heartland. Worshipped in the South.”
The implication that the ancient warrior deity originated in the North immediately struck a raw nerve across Tamil Nadu.
Stepping directly into the row, Seeman vehemently objected to any cinematic attempt to alter the deity’s roots or project.
Addressing the media, the NTK leader asserted that there is undeniable historical evidence proving Lord Murugan is an indigenous Tamil deity, traditionally celebrated as “Tamil Kadavul” (the God of Tamils) across ancient Sangam literature.
Seeman warned that any attempt to distort Tamil cultural history, identity, and religious sentiments for cinematic liberties would not be tolerated.
He issued an ultimatum stating that if the team fails to halt the project or rectify its narrative framing, his party will launch intense, widespread protests against the film.
While the controversy continues to escalate rapidly on social media, the core team of Jr NTR, Trivikram, and Haarika & Hassine Creations has yet to issue an official clarification.
