Whether it is a superhit movie or a dud, Bollywood critics have a certain stance on Hindi films remade from South superhit movies. The common tag they use for such movies is ‘cheap, loud and mindless entertainers’. Whether it is a superhit movie like Salman Khan’s ‘Wanted’ or a flop like ‘Jai Ho, B’Town critics seem to be nurturing low opinion on the movies from down South.
Coming to the remake of ‘Ramanaa’ (Tagore), Krish’s debut Hindi venture is slammed heavily by the critics for the loudness and noise and especially for the out-dated story which isn’t half decent as the original directed by Murugadoss. Krish has made some changes to the original and those didn’t really add to the impact but rather spoilt the feel of the original say the critics who had watched the original Tamil movie.

And those who didn’t watch the original, opined that the film was a big torture and a two-hour plus bashing which offers nothing new except the bearded look of Akshay Kumar. Using an iconic character like ‘Gabbar’ from cult movie ‘Sholay’, B’Town critics think that Krish had in fact misused the namesake for a mindless movie.
Only the following weekend collections and the coming days would decide Krish movie’s fate because many movies in Bollywood slammed heavily by critics did good business at box-office.
