During a recent event, actor Sivaji sparked massive outrage after making offensive and disrespectful remarks about how women dress. His use of vulgar language and insulting expressions crossed basic limits of decency and drew sharp backlash from both the public and film personalities. Many felt his comments reflected a deeply regressive mindset and were completely unacceptable on a public platform.
Now Prakash Raj has responded strongly, questioning Sivaji’s attitude toward women and calling out the arrogance behind such statements. He said that language like this exposes the internal mindset of the speaker and reminded everyone that women have endured injustice for generations. Prakash Raj firmly stated that no individual has the right to judge women based on their clothing or bodies. He stressed that public platforms demand responsibility, culture, and sensitivity.
He also expressed solidarity with Anasuya Bharadwaj, who became a direct target during the controversy. Prakash Raj condemned the casual use of terms like aunty.
“They are calling her (Anasuya) an ‘aunty’. What kind of language is that? Other than making comments on women’s body parts, they do not seem to know anything else in Telugu. They keep talking only about body parts. They speak as if they are very cultured, but it is extremely disgusting. I support Anasuya and women like Anasuya. Supporting women is my responsibility. It is our duty. Whether it is Sivaji or anyone else, when speaking on a public platform, they must control themselves. You may have different opinions, but you should know how to say them and in what manner you should speak,” Prakash Raj said.
“Sivaji has said sorry, but the others will not let it go. I tweeted asking Anasuya to stay strong. I understand the disgust of those ‘so called’ cultured people. They abuse me in the same way too. They drag in the mother, the sister, and the daughter. Their brains are stuck there, and they speak only in that manner. Without any doubt, what Sivaji said was very wrong,” he stated.
“In a civilized society, no one expected this. Who are you to say such things? That is why one needs to change their perspective. It is men who harass girls, not women, right? Does anyone ever say that if someone pinches you, you should allow it, like my dialogue in the movie Pokiri? That is a great injustice,” Prakash Raj said.
