The long-awaited moment arrived: the release of the Pushpa 2 song, ‘Pushpa Pushpa’. Anticipation was high, with fans eager to see what Devi Sri Prasad, Sukumar, and their team had cooked this time around.
The song carried immense expectations, especially among Hindi audiences who are gradually embracing South cinema music.
However, the response to the song has been mixed.
For Hindi audiences, it’s a quintessential mass song that captures the essence of the Pushpa character and his journey from the first part. The dialogue, “Hargiz Jhukega Nahin Saala,” sends shivers down listeners’ spines, and the catchy hook line ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ is on everyone’s lips. Allu Arjun’s electrifying energy elevates the song, and Mika Singh’s rendition in the Hindi version injects fresh energy into the track.
Yet, considering the extremely high expectations associated with a potential 1000-crore grosser, the song falls short in terms of its musical composition. It lacks the greatness one might anticipate from a film hailed as the next all-time blockbuster.
While the lyrics of the songs from the first part never gave a feel that it’s a Telugu song dubbed in Hindi, this time the seamless transition is missing.
The lyrics of the ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ song by Raqueeb Aalam clearly give the impression that we’re listening to a South Indian song dubbed in Hindi.
While the song isn’t subpar, the weight of expectations does overshadow it.
However, there’s no denying that it may gain popularity, especially since there aren’t many recent hits in the music scene, making it a viable option for many listeners.
The Hindi version of the song has garnered over 400 K likes on YouTube, likely to reach 500 K soon, with views expected to surpass 18-20 million in 24 hours—a commendable feat.
Whatever might be the response to the song, Pushpa 2 has become one of those films which are critic-proof. Unless the film is extremely bad, there’s no stopping this one.
