DLF Street in Gachibowli, Hyderabad – the ultimate late-night food haven for techies, has fallen victim to some frustrating changes.
After a grueling day at the tech grind, DLF used to be a sanctuary for IT employees, especially those working in night shifts. Whether anyone needed a quick chai break or a hearty meal, it was always there, open until 1 AM.
This bustling street is a late-night food paradise, typically open until 1 AM, serving everything from shawarmas, biryanis, and kebabs to quick bites like Maggi, dosa, momos, fruit juices, and ice creams.
However, recent directives from the city police ahead of the Telangana State Legislative Assembly elections have disrupted the street’s usual operational hours.
Vendors are now required to close their shops by 11 PM, which has raised concerns among both the stall owners and customers. For many of these vendors, the nighttime hours are when they thrive, and this shift in operational hours is causing them significant economic hardship.
Night shift employees who rely on DLF Street for late-night dining are among the most affected. They lament the loss of their go-to midnight snack destination, highlighting the convenience it offers after a long night at work.
