Andhra Pradesh High Court has made serious remarks on the State Government’s delay in taking a decision on the future of Amaravati. “We do not care for the agendas of the former CM or the current CM. There are serious problems in the high court. We get complaints regularly from Lawyers. We do not get a cup of tea here,” the high court bench said.
The court gave the government two weeks time to submit an affidavit on its plan on the Capital and Swiss Challenge Method. “There is no chance of extending the deadline,” the court said. The court posted the further hearing of this case to November 21st. “We will give mid-term orders if the government does not submit the affidavit in two weeks. If the government is not okay with that, it can approach the Supreme Court,” the court said.
The counsel for the Government informed the court that the government is reviewing various contracts taken up by the previous regime. “How long who will go on reviewing? You should decide what you are going to do,” the court sternly said. Ever Since YSR Congress came to power, it has brought all the projects in Amaravati to a standstill.
Furthermore, Municipal and Urban Development Minister, Botsa Satyanarayana is creating confusion about the capital by making one statement a day. The government also appointed an experts committee to review the Capital works and will be deciding the future of Amaravati basing on its report.
