AP Govt Presents Rs 3.2 Lakh Crore Budget

The state budget for fiscal year 2025-26 was presented by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav in the Assembly today. The state government presented Rs 3.2 lakh crore budget for the year 2025-26.

Of this, Rs 2,51,162 lakh crore is the estimated revenue expenditure, while Rs 40,635 crore is the capital expenditure. Talliki Vandanam and Annadata Sukhibhava promised under the Super Six poll promises made their way into the Budget.

A mention of Godavari-Banakacherla project, an intra-linking of rivers project was also mentioned. But the funds allocated were not mentioned.

Allocation of Rs 6705 crore was made in the budget for Polavaram project. Rs 10 crore was allocated to Telugu language development and free power to schools.

The capital city project was allocated Rs 6000 crore. Rs 4220 crore was allocated for roads and Rs 605 crore for ports and airports. The government also allocated Rs 10 crore for Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, Rs 101 crore for Real Time Governance Society and CM Call Center and Rs 300 crore for Incentives to IT and electronics industries and organisations.

According to figures presented, the government generated RS 1,09,007 crore in its own tax revenue, Rs 19,119 crore in non-tax revenue and Rs 57,566 crore in its share of central taxes and duties.

Keshav allocated Rs 11,636 crore for agriculture, Rs 10,909 for social welfare, Rs 10,619 for economically weaker sections, Rs 8785 for transport.

The AP govt allocated Rs 31,806 crore for school education, Rs 23, 260 for BC welfare, Rs 19,265 for health and Rs 18,848 crore for Panchayat Raj and rural development.

The govt allocated Rs 12,112 crore for industrial development and skilling, Rs 55,730 crore for economic and technological advancement, Rs 1,42,349 crore for social inclusivity and empowerment and Rs 29,655 crore for sustainable agriculture.

The government allocated Rs 837 crore for industrial corridors in Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Rs 1400 crore were allocated for industries, MSMEs and food processing. Rs 2000 was set aside for PPPP (public-private people partnership) projects. Rs 745 crore was allocated for Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana and Rs 210 crore for industrial training units.

Meanwhile, as part of procedure, agriculture minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu presented the agriculture budget of Rs 48,341.14 crore.Rs 12,903.41 crore were allocated for irrigation projects, Rs 50 crore for NTR Jala Siri programme among other allocations. Rs 12,773.25 crore were allocated for AP Uchitha Vyavasaya Vidyut Pathakam, which aims to provide free power to farmers.
