AP’s Very Own “KGF” Story To Begin: Lokesh

AP gold mining project at Kurnool

Andhra Pradesh is about to have its own KGF moment. Young leader Nara Lokesh took to X to thank a publication for their story on the upcoming project in Andhra Pradesh.

During the Union Budget, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that Andhra Pradesh will be part of the rare earth metals belt. Now, it is evident that AP will have it’s own KGF style gold mine that will be operational soon. An integrated refinery will come up at Jonnagiri.

After Independence, gold was mined at a nominal level at Jharkhand. Much of the gold came from KGF, which was shut down in 2001.

Gold is a must-have in Indian households and it is used in high-end electronic components. The Andhra Pradesh government in its signature style cleared environmental concerns and bureaucratic hurdles to allow a leading private company having mines in China, South Africa and Australia, to take the lead in mining gold.

Of course, the mines in Kurnool are expected to produce 750 kilos of gold a year. The area is expected to have 6.8 million tons of gold deposits in the eastern block alone. Since mining is a labour-intensive industry, it means jobs to citizens and the production can set the path for mining other essential metals. The trials are complete and the two companies involved in production are heading towards commercial production.

As always, Chandrababu has once again shown that his speed of doing business works wonders when it comes to investments. Surely, this is the new KGF chapter of Andhra Pradesh.
