AP Gets Rs 10,100 Crore Rail Budget

Andhra Pradesh has received a major boost with a rail budget allocation of Rs 10,100 crore. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the development and announced that 73 railway stations across the state will be rebuilt as part of the plan.

Vaishnaw stated that the railway line connecting Kolkata and Chennai through Andhra Pradesh is being extended. He added that the Centre is working in coordination with the Chandrababu government to speed up key infrastructure projects across the state.

The minister also revealed plans for the Hyderabad Chennai Bengaluru high-speed rail corridor. He described it as a high-speed diamond project aimed at improving connectivity between major cities and boosting economic activity in the region.

While citizens of AP expressed disappointment over the Union Budget announced on February 1, the rail sector brought positive news. Andhra Pradesh secured a significant share of funding when it comes to railway infrastructure and expansion.

As the youngest state in the country, Andhra Pradesh is witnessing rapid development under the leadership of Chandrababu. Industrial growth and modernisation are picking up pace, creating a need for faster and more efficient transport systems.

To meet rising passenger demand in a state betting heavily on support advanced technologies like AI, machine learning, and quantum computing, the high-speed rail corridor is seen as a crucial step. The project aims to place the state on par with industrialised nations such as Japan.
