The 53rd CRDA meeting has cleared the construction of Raj Bhavan on the Krishna riverfront. The project, estimated at Rs 212 crore, will form part of the new government complex and serve as the official residence of the Governor.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who chaired the meeting, emphasised the need for an impressive architectural design that reflects the significance of the state’s highest constitutional office. He instructed officials to prioritise both quality and aesthetics in the project’s execution.
Chandrababu also directed ministers and officials to ensure that farmers who gave up their lands for Amaravati development benefit from the capital’s progress. He reiterated his government’s commitment to honouring promises made to them during land pooling.
Of the 54,000 acres required for the capital, 34,281 acres were pooled from nearly 30,000 farmers across 29 villages. The Chief Minister ordered that returnable plots be handed over immediately and within the same villages where lands were originally contributed.
He stressed that farmers should grow along with the greenfield capital’s development. Chandrababu added that Amaravati’s infrastructure must take visible shape within three months to mark a major milestone in the state’s growth journey.
