BJP‘s Struggle For Candidates In 10 Seats

The delay in announcing BJP candidates for the Andhra Pradesh elections has raised concerns among party members and allied party supporters. It shows the ground reality of party position in AP. Despite candidates being announced in other states, the delay in AP has caused impatience among BJP leaders, activists, and supporters.

The allocation of 10 assembly seats and 6 parliament seats to BJP within the alliance further adds to the urgency of finalizing candidates. Reports suggest that BJP will contest in various regions across AP, including Rayalaseema, Kosta, and Uttarandhra. Efforts are underway to finalize candidates for specific constituencies, such as Dharmavaram in Anantapur, where MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy is reportedly lobbying for the Gunthakallu seat.

However, challenges have arisen in some constituencies, such as Jammalamadugu and Badvelu in Kadapa, where opposition from local families complicates candidate selection. In Vijayawada West, protests have erupted among supporters of a leader hoping for a Jana Sena ticket, while in Kaikaluru, debates over the suitability of a former minister’s candidacy have emerged.

The situation is further complicated by the absence of a candidate for the Anaparthi seat and concerns regarding the capability of potential candidates in Paderu. Additionally, considerations regarding the social class vote in Etcherla and the difficulty of cooperating with strong leaders within TDP highlight the complexities involved in candidate selection. There is a campaign going on saying that the candidate who will enter Paderu ring is a person who is not capable at all.

Etcherla’s candidate is getting at least a thousand votes from the community. Overall, the delay in announcing candidates for AP has intensified pressure on BJP and its allies to expedite the decision-making process and address the concerns of party members and supporters.
