BRS MLC Kavitha is reportedly feeling suffocated within the party. After her fallout with brother KTR, she is struggling to find her space. The rift has become public, making her position even more difficult.
Kavitha continues to remain in the party, which seems to irritate KTR. He is said to be pressuring KCR to suspend her from BRS. The tension has widened within the family and the party.
At this point, Kavitha left for a short US tour to admit her son to college. During her absence, KTR appointed former minister Koppula Eshwar as the Singareni Collieries Trade Union Honorary President, replacing her.
This move has angered Kavitha. She released a statement in her trademark style. Reports suggest she is deeply hurt and may even be considering resigning from the party.
If true, it could be a serious mistake. KTR wants her out of BRS, and such a step would only serve his interests. Kavitha would also lose political influence and media relevance after quitting.
The main attraction of her press meets and statements is the visible dissent within the family and the party. If she resigns, that context will disappear, and her voice may carry little weight.
Her future path also looks uncertain. Joining Congress or BJP does not seem possible. Floating her own party would be risky, especially with Sharmila’s example showing how tough survival can be.
Quitting BRS would be a bad decision in many ways. Kavitha may be angry and eager to counter KTR, but logic suggests she must stay cautious. Sometimes reason matters more than emotion.
