Revanth’s Village: South India’s 1st Solar-powered

Kondareddypalli solar-powered village

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s native village has achieved a milestone as south India’s first 100 per cent solar-powered village. Kondareddypalli earned this recognition under the Green Energy Mission, marking a big step towards sustainable living.

The village lies in Vangoor mandal, Nagarkurnool, with 514 houses and 11 government buildings. Out of these, 480 homes run on 3KW rooftop solar panels, while schools and offices use 60KW units, ensuring steady and clean energy.

The remaining 34 mud houses will also switch to solar once their Indiramma homes are completed. Each house currently generates 360 units a month, offering uninterrupted power and freeing families from electricity bills.

Villagers are also selling power at Rs 5.25 per unit. In September, they sold 1 lakh units and earned Rs 5 lakh. This makes Kondareddypalli the first village where locals turned into green entrepreneurs.

India continues to invest in renewable energy, and Kondareddypalli stands as a shining example of a clean and self-reliant future.
