The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has taken up this large scale project to ease traffic congestion and improve access to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time for daily commuters.

Once completed, commuters travelling from Uppal, LB Nagar and Secunderabad will be able to reach RGIA without traffic signals. The six lane corridor is planned under Hi City and will allow uninterrupted movement past Mailardevpally, Shamshabad road and Katedan.

The flyover will also improve connectivity towards Shadnagar, Mahbubnagar, Attapur and Mehdipatnam. To streamline traffic flow, a three lane down ramp will be constructed at the Katedan junction.

The contractor awarded the project will handle surveys, design work and drawings. Utility shifting, landscaping, footpaths, signage, lighting and road markings will also be completed within the two year timeline.

Overall, the six lane elevated corridor is expected to be a major infrastructure boost for Hyderabad. Officials believe it will play a key role in easing traffic pressure and improving airport connectivity up to RGIA.
