The Government of Telangana is making efforts to ensure that the upcoming Future City near Hyderabad becomes one of the most advanced, tech-driven spaces in the country.
Several key projects, including Skill University, Pharma Hub, International Cricket Stadium and other infrastructures, have already been approved for construction in the Future City. Now, we hear that the World Trade Centre is setting up its branch in this region.
Officials from the Rangareddy district are currently chalking out plans for the construction of WTC. Representatives from the World Trade Centre Association have also expressed interest in establishing a branch in Hyderabad.
After the recent agreement between the government and the association, revenue and industries department officials are working on selecting a suitable site for the World Trade Centre’s construction.
Reports suggest that three potential sites near AI City have been identified, and a report of the same will be submitted to the concerned authorities.
The WTC Association has requested that the chosen location have easy road (Highway and Link road) access to both the Airport and the Metro Rail system.
Initially, the government planned to allocate 50 acres for the project. However, WTC is requesting an additional 20 acres to accommodate future expansions and parking facilities.
They have also asked for provisions to establish solar plants and telecommunications towers. The government has been requested to consider these requirements while allocating the land.
The World Trade Centre already has branches in Indian cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Noida. Construction is underway in Chennai, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Amaravati, Bhopal, Goa, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Pune, and Varanasi. Plans are now being made to bring new branches to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam as well.
