Cognizant will begin its initial operations in Vizag in January 2026. The company will start with 800 employees and run a temporary delivery center before the full campus becomes operational.
Some employees from other centers will be shifted to Vizag. The government has allotted 21.33 acres in Kapuluppada for the project. Cognizant will invest Rs 1583 crores in the construction and plans to hire 8000 employees in phases once the campus is ready.
The final campus is expected to be completed by early 2029. Cognizant will focus on AI and digital transformation from its Vizag base. The company stated that Vizag offers strong infrastructure and a talented workforce, especially for expanding opportunities in tier-2 cities.
Cognizant aims to create meaningful career growth and support an innovation-driven ecosystem in the region. The Vizag facility will join its existing presence in Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi-NCR, GIFT city, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Kolkata, Mangalore, Mumbai and Pune.
