In recent news, social media users from Hyderabad have raised concerns about a group of individuals claiming to be transgender persons, allegedly targeting young boys and demanding money.
One user took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight a growing issue at the KPHB bus stop, where a group reportedly targets “young boys who look shy or innocent.”

According to the user, they initially ask for money, but when given small amounts like ₹10 or ₹20, they demand more. If someone says they don’t have cash, the group allegedly pulls out QR codes and forces people to pay via UPI.
The user further claimed that if someone refuses to pay, they are publicly humiliated by being called names, harassed, touched inappropriately, or even threatened with the group undressing themselves to shame the other person.

The user urged Hyderabad City Police to take action, stating that people no longer feel safe in these areas.
Such incidents have reportedly been happening for years, yet no government or police authority has been able to effectively address the issue.

Transgender individuals were once welcomed for blessings, but now, due to certain actions by some groups, fear has taken root.
The core issue remains that transgender people in India face a lack of employment opportunities, which often pushes some of them to resort to begging or aggressive tactics for money.
However, when public safety is at stake, it’s time the government acknowledges this crisis and ensures better employment and rehabilitation support for the transgender community so they can build dignified lives rather than be forced onto the streets.
