Murugadoss Outdated Template Getting Fake Hype?

Madharaasi fake hype controversy

Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss, released in theatres on September 5th and opened to mixed reviews. While some critics called it average, many general audiences shared highly negative reactions, describing the film as disappointing and poorly executed.

Despite this, several Kollywood trackers and reviewers have been promoting Madharaasi on social media as a blockbuster. They highlighted Murugadoss’s style of giving unique characterizations to his heroes and compared Sivakarthikeyan’s role with a delusional disorder to Suriya’s Ghajini and Vijay’s Kaththi.

The repeated posts created suspicion among netizens, who felt the constant comparisons were deliberate attempts to boost the film’s image. Many speculated that it was a paid PR campaign designed to project Madharaasi as more successful than it actually is.

On social media, several viewers argued that audiences exposed to OTT content have already seen far more complex and engaging characters. They felt Murugadoss’s portrayal of a disorder in Madharaasi seemed outdated, adding little freshness or relevance to the story.

Some users suggested that trackers should stop forcefully promoting the film, especially since box office performance paints a different picture. Even the upcoming anime film Demon Slayer has been leading in ticket bookings over Madharaasi, further highlighting its struggles.

Netizens strongly believe that the PR push for Madharaasi is excessive and unnecessary. With the film already heading towards failure, they feel promotions cannot change its reality and that it may soon be labelled a disaster in Kollywood circles.
