The H-1B visa process is getting a shakeup every other day recently. Now, The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has introduced reforms claiming to cut fraud and make the system fairer.
The biggest change is to limit a person to only one registration. Earlier, multiple employers could submit entries for the same applicant, giving some an unfair edge.

USCIS says this will bring fairness and transparency as numbers suggest a significant drop in fraud applications.
The eligible registrations in the 2025 financial year have fallen by 38.6%. However, the number of unique applicants stayed the same at 442,000.

The authorities also demand passport details now to block duplicate registrations. They’ve issued a warning that anyone submitting false info, will be thrown out and might face legal trouble.
For Indian applicants, this is good news as less competition from fake entries means fairer chances. Employers, too, benefit from a process based on merit, not loopholes.
