Abhishek Kapoor’s Azaad has finally hit the theatres, and it seems to be getting mixed reviews from the public and critics alike.

The film is all about the bond between Govind (Aaman Devgan) and his majestic Black stallion named Azaad. It tries to portray the sacred relationship between the two while reflecting the values of loyalty and the struggle for freedom.

According to most of the reviews, the film succeeds in its portrayal of the rustic themes of the colonial era. Ajay Devgn shines in the first half, perhaps more than he does in all of ‘Singham Again’.

But that’s about it for the positives. The horse-centric narrative seems to have bored the public, with the plot looking too predictable and simple at times.

The performances from Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani seem underwhelming, with their acting lacking emotional depth while having poor dialogue delivery.

Rasha Thadani is being particularly trolled for the visible struggle to find the right accent for her role.

The film sometimes leaves logic far behind, like in the romantic scenes between Azaad and the mare, leaving the audience confused.

The music and sound design don’t add much value, and with the pacing being inconsistent and scenes feeling dragged out, the overall experience turns out to be mediocre at best.
