Nikhil’s Spy is up for release on the 29th of this month. Here’s what he had to say about the film as he sat down for an interview with M9.news.
“I first thought of rejecting this film at first. But I liked the script and agreed to do it.”
About the rift with the producer, Nikhil said “There’s no such thing as rift. The producer and director insisted on the release date despite the pending production works. After they teamed up, I couldn’t do much. But going forward, I asked my manager Raja Ravindra to add a clause in all my agreements – Going forward no Producer can lock the release date before completing the shoot”.
About meeting Ram Charan “He is partnering for production of my next film. He liked the script and even suggested some changes. He spoke with me as well”.
Nikhil recently said he was offered drugs and he rejected. When asked to elaborate, he replied “This wasn’t in the film industry. This was back when I was in college. There is good and bad in every industry but media magnifies everything that happens in film industry,” he told.
About Spy’s pan India prospects, Nikhil said “I am a bit disappointed there is no time to promote the film but I’m hoping that this film will gain momentum after the release in Hindi and then progress at the box office like the way Karthikeya 2 did.”
Nikhil added he trusts his director Garry who worked as an editor with him in the past and is hopeful that Spy will work in the pan Indian belt.
