Peddi Gets Big Relief: Over to Ram Charan & Buchi Babu

One of the biggest Telugu releases of the year, Peddi, has received a major boost ahead of its theatrical release. The Andhra Pradesh government has reportedly granted permission for special premiere shows and temporary ticket price hikes, clearing one of the final hurdles before the film reaches theatres.

Starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi has generated strong buzz through its trailer, songs, and promotional campaign, making it one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year.

According to reports, the Andhra Pradesh government has issued the required GO, allowing special premiere shows from 8 PM on June 3, a day ahead of the film’s worldwide release on June 4.

The approved pricing structure reportedly fixes premiere show tickets at Rs. 600. For the regular run, single-screen theatres can charge an additional Rs. 100 per ticket, while multiplexes can add Rs. 125 above regular rates. These revised prices will remain in effect for ten days after release.

With these approvals in place, Peddi’s release strategy in Andhra Pradesh is now fully locked. Industry sources also indicate that advance bookings could begin from June 1, though an official announcement is still awaited.

The development is significant because ticket pricing has become one of the most debated topics in Telugu cinema. While producers view special shows and premium pricing as essential for recovering large investments during the opening weekend, movie lovers argue that higher ticket rates can further discourage theatre attendance at a time when the industry is already concerned about declining footfalls.

For now, however, the Andhra Pradesh approvals represent a significant win for the makers. The decision strengthens the film’s opening-week revenue potential while also giving fans early access through premiere shows.

The film’s run time is 3 hours and 32 seconds. The first half is 1 Hour 32 mins whereas the second half is around 1 hour 28 mins.

With just days left for release, the focus will now shift to advance bookings and whether Peddi can convert its strong pre-release buzz into one of the biggest openings of the year.
