Neel Vs Rajamouli: All Hatred, Zero Sense

There is no denying that Rajamouli is the biggest commercial filmmaker in Indian cinema today. He has held this position for years, thanks to his visionary storytelling and record-breaking box office performances.

It was Rajamouli who opened the pan-India market with Baahubali, and he followed it up with the global blockbuster RRR. These films elevated Indian cinema on the world stage.

However, some negative chatter has resurfaced with the upcoming re-release of Baahubali: The Epic. A section of fans has sparked a debate comparing Rajamouli to director Prashanth Neel.

The argument stems from how Baahubali: The Epic is being marketed. Some fans are upset that it’s branded as “Rajamouli’s Baahubali” instead of highlighting Prabhas. They point out that Salaar was promoted as “Rebel Star Prabhas’s Salaar,” giving more visibility to the actor.

This line of discussion, however, appears baseless. It’s crystal clear that Baahubali is a product of Rajamouli’s vision. While the actors, including Prabhas, gave it their all, the concept, world-building, and execution are undeniably Rajamouli’s.

No other director in Indian cinema has managed to craft a project of this scale and deliver it with such perfection. The pan-India cinema movement began with Baahubali, and Rajamouli deserves full credit for that.

Promoting Baahubali: The Epic with Rajamouli’s name is only fair. He is the creative force behind the film, and the recognition is well earned. There’s no real reason for this to be a matter of debate.
