Bondi Beach terror attack Sydney

The world was shocked by the antisemitic terror attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday. Fifteen people were shot dead and several others were injured. The attack was carried out by father and son duo Sajid Akram and Naveed Akram.

Two Islamist State flags were found on their vehicle. During the incident, 50 year old Sajid Akram was shot dead by authorities. His son Naveed Akram sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in hospital.

A disturbing development later emerged linking Sajid Akram to Hyderabad. He moved to Australia in 1998 on a student visa. Reports say he last visited Hyderad in 2022, which brought renewed focus on his background.

Authorities have launched a detailed background check. Sajid Akram was originally from Toli Chowki. His family members in India stated that they had cut ties with him long ago. So far, officials have found no active Indian connections.

Hyderabad DGP Shivadhar Reddy released a press note on Sajid’s Hyderabad links. It revealed that Sajid visited India six times over 27 years. He did not return even for his father’s funeral, according to police findings.

After completing his Bcom in Hyderabad, Sajid moved to Australia for employment. He married a Europe origin woman named Venera Grosso and settled there. The couple had two children, Naveed and a daughter, both Australian citizens.

Hyderabad police said there were no links with terror groups in India. However, investigations showed that both father and son were inspired by ISIS ideology. This revelation has raised serious security concerns among investigators.

News of Sajid Akram’s Hyderabad connection has triggered fear among citizens of Telangana. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue at both national and international levels.
