BRS chief KCR and party leader Harish Rao received relief in the Kaleswaram case. The Telangana High Court ordered that no action should be taken against them until the next hearing.
KCR, Harish Rao, Smitha Sabharwal, and Shailendra Joshi filed a petition challenging the Kaleswaram report. The High Court granted them protection earlier. In a latest move, the Court extended the same protection.
The Court postponed the next hearing to February 25. It clearly stated that no interim action must be taken against the petitioners until further orders. This direction remains in force until the next hearing date.
Political circles are closely watching the case. There is strong buzz about the steps the Telangana government may take next. BRS cadre fear that KCR and Harish Rao could face arrest based on the report.
The report allegedly described KCR as the karta, karma, kriya behind all irregularities linked to the Kaleswaram project. These claims have raised serious concerns within party ranks.
Following the High Court’s decision, BRS cadre expressed relief. However, uncertainty remains as they await the final verdict. Party leaders admit that if charges are proven, KCR could face a jail term.
Meanwhile, the BRS is pushing its narrative strongly. The party claims Kaleswaram is a prestigious project for Telangana and alleges that graft accusations are driven by political vendetta.
