Nara Lokesh was the show-stealer at the Jayaho BC meeting of TDP and Janasena in Mangalagiri the other day. Lokesh challenged to win Mangalagiri by 53,000 votes majority this time and gift it to Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan drawing huge applause from the crowd.
“Last time, I chose a difficult seat to contest. I came here just 21 days before the election and was defeated by 5,300 votes. I will add one more Zero to that and win 53,000 votes this time and gift Mangalagiri to Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan,” Lokesh said.
Lokesh narrated how he struck Mangalagiri even after the defeat and implemented 29 welfare schemes for various sections of the Mangalagiri population.
The best part is how Lokesh is aware of the long-term problems of the constituency.
He brought to the notice of Chandrababu Naidu the need to regularize the dwellings present in the lands of Kondaporamboku, forest, irrigation, endowment, and railway departments. “Many people are living there for three generations, there is a need to regularize those lands,” Lokesh said.
He also asked to construct 20,000 houses for the poor in the constituency. Lokesh also asked for a separate corporation to help Razakas in Padmashalis.
He also explained how he undertook a pilot project in association with TATA to double the income of the weavers in the constituency. He requested Chandrababu to implement the same to the weavers across the state.
He also brought to the notice of Chandrababu to cancel the U1 Zone of Amaravati Master Plan due to which some farmers who have given lands are suffering.
The activity of Lokesh over these four years and ten months in the constituency and the awareness he has even for hyperlocal problems of Mangalagiri is really surprising.
We have seen celebrity politicians landing in a constituency at the last minute and forget it if they lose. But Lokesh continued in Mangalagiri with persistence, worked hard there, and clearly understood the ground-level problems.
No wonder Lokesh is so confident of winning Mangalagiri this time with a bumper majority.
