No Form, No Vote: Why Telangana’s July 24 Election Deadline is Critical

Telangana voter Enumeration Form deadline

A massive electoral cleanup is officially underway across Telangana, and the clock is ticking for citizens to secure their right to vote. Under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive launched by the Election Commission, a strict deadline of July 24 has been set for submitting the mandatory Enumeration Form.

For voters who miss this crucial window, the consequences are immediate: their names will be entirely left off the Draft Voter List scheduled for publication on July 31.

This intensive door-to-door verification process by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) marks the state’s first comprehensive roll revision in nearly twenty-five years. Completing this form, either physically during a BLO’s household visit or directly online through the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Telangana portal, is the only way to ensure your existing voter record remains active. Failing to turn in the signed form with a current photograph before the deadline means your registration will lapse.

Beyond the baseline registration requirements, the Election Commission has put forward strict guidelines to streamline the state’s electoral data. Foreign citizens are explicitly restricted from participating in the enumeration process, and authorities have issued a clear warning regarding dual registration.

Individuals discovered holding active voter profiles in multiple states must choose a single location to maintain their vote, as carrying duplicate voter registrations carries severe legal implications.
