YSRCP has filed Public Interest Litigations against several IT companies and IT parks coming up in Andhra Pradesh. This move comes after letters were allegedly sent from anonymous accounts to the World Bank and other lending institutions.
Party-affiliated members have filed PILs against major projects involving TCS, Cognizant, Sattva, and Raheja IT parks. Together, these developments are expected to generate over one lakh jobs in the state.
The latest PIL was filed by G Srinivasa Rao of Society for Protection of The Constitution. He is being represented by YSRCP advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar.
YSRCP has accused the Chandrababu government of failing to create jobs and delaying projects. However, global investors are gradually returning to Andhra Pradesh due to the proactive approach of the ruling party.
During its five-year rule, YSRCP failed to attract major investments. The state was left facing serious financial challenges by the end of its tenure.
Now, critics allege that the party is attempting to create legal obstacles. These PILs are seen as efforts to delay the grounding of new projects.
Major investors prioritise speed and ease of doing business. YSRCP or its affiliated members have questioned land allotments priced at 99 paise per acre.
They have raised concerns over the legality and transparency of such allocations. These challenges have added uncertainty around key infrastructure projects.
The ruling TDP has defended its decisions. It cites the Land Incentive for Tech Hubs Policy 4.0, noting that similar incentives were used in Gujarat for Tata Motors.
