Big IPL Concern: BCCI Flags Honey Trap Danger!

BCCI IPL security guidelines

The BCCI has issued strict new guidelines to all IPL teams after multiple rule violations were reported during IPL 2026. The board is now focusing heavily on player security, discipline, and controlled access inside team environments.

According to the new rules, no unauthorised person will be allowed inside player or staff hotel rooms. Any visitor must first receive written approval from the team manager.

The BCCI has instructed that meetings with guests should happen only in public spaces like hotel lobbies. Entry into private hotel rooms without approval has now been completely banned.

The board has also warned players and staff about possible security threats, including honey trap risks. Teams have been asked to remain highly alert during the tournament.

Under the updated rules, players and support staff must take permission before leaving the team hotel at any time. They are required to inform the Security Liaison Officer (SLO) or Team Integrity Officer (TIO) before stepping out.

Teams must also maintain proper movement records for security and verification purposes. The BCCI wants all franchises to strictly monitor player movements throughout the season.

The board has also restricted the involvement of team owners during matches. Owners are not allowed inside dressing rooms, dugouts, or playing areas during live games.

Any communication with players during matches must happen only through official channels. Direct interaction has now been completely restricted during live action.

The BCCI has once again reminded franchises that vaping and e-cigarettes are banned under Indian law. These products are not permitted inside stadiums, dressing rooms, practice venues, or team hotels.

Team managers have been asked to ensure that every player and staff member follows the new rules carefully. Franchises must also conduct regular briefings and collect written acknowledgements from all members.

The board has warned that violations could result in fines, suspensions, or stricter disciplinary action depending on the seriousness of the breach. The BCCI will continue monitoring teams throughout IPL 2026 to ensure complete compliance.
