The deportation of hundreds of Indian students from the US has garnered attention everywhere. While the deportation’s lasting impact will haunt the students who returned from the US, there’s another side to the story.
As we previously reported, Hyderabad Airport is witnessing significant crowds bidding farewell to students leaving for higher studies in the US.
For many parents in India, when their son or daughter is granted a US visa, they view it as a sign of a settled life and celebrate it as a matter of prestige in society.
Now, the students sent back to India have already spent a substantial amount on college fees, air travel, and other expenses. This financial burden falls on parents, as these students are not in a position to immediately earn money.
Adding to this, parents have to bear the shame of their children being deported from the US due to fraudulent documents, which affects their daily lives. In a way, this deportation will impact parents more than the students sent back to India by the US.
