As 2026 approaches, concerns around rising OTT subscription prices are growing among viewers. Many users are questioning whether major platforms will make streaming more expensive in the coming year. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ remain under close watch.
Netflix has not officially announced any price revision for 2026 so far. However, uncertainty lingers after reports of its $83 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery’s film and streaming divisions. The company has said no immediate changes are planned.
Netflix also clarified in a message to subscribers that future price hikes cannot be completely ruled out. The proposed acquisition is still awaiting regulatory and shareholder approvals. These developments could influence long term pricing strategies.
Amazon Prime Video has similarly not confirmed any subscription hike for 2026. Still, speculation suggests a possible increase of up to $20 in the annual Prime membership. Amazon has not issued any official statement supporting these claims.
Disney+ has already moved ahead with price increases from October. Its ad-supported plan now costs $11.99 per month, while the ad-free premium tier is priced at $18.99. Overall, rising streaming costs appear to be an industry-wide trend.
