After the super success of the “Scam 1992” that became a national phenomenon, Hansal Mehta is back with another scam, and this time it’s, of course, bigger if not better.
Scam 2003: The Telgi Story deals with Karim Telgi, who rose from being a nobody to India’s biggest stamp-paper counterfeiter. It’s a beautiful story based on the rags-to-riches theme. The show is a good sequel, with Gagan Dev Riar, who played Abdul Karim Telgi, following a different path and owning the character completely. the good thing is that he does not try to imitate Pratik Gandhi, who received lots of praise for playing Harshad Mehta so perfectly.
If we talk about the story, it is obvious to get compared to its first part, which is fair enough. It’s not like the new show does something exceptional. A well-researched and interesting story is all you need to bring back the same nostalgia, added with Achint’s powerful scam background music (BGM).
Its biggest drawback is that the show is incomplete. The makers have released only its first five episodes, each lasting 50-55 minutes. Its second part will premiere in November. Therefore, you will have to wait if you want to finish it in one go or settle with a cliffhanger. The first five episodes of “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story” are available on Sony Liv.
