Taylor Swift Fans Caused Earthquake Activity

Taylor Swift Fans Caused Earthquake Activity If you think Taylor Swift only manages to create waves in the music industry, you are absolutely wrong. Recently, Swifties created seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.

Seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach analyzed seismic wave information from a station near Seattle’s Lumen Field. The data was collected during Swift’s Eras tour concerts held on July 22nd.

Now, the fanbase of Swift has always been a dedicated one, and when there were a total of 144,000 fans, you can already imagine that there was something special.

A ‘fan-made’ earthquake is not the first one, as you can link it to the Beast Quake of 2011. It happened when the Seattle Seahawks erupted after an impressive touchdown by running back Marshawn Lynch. A similar incident was also observed during the FIFA World Cup 2018 match, Germany VS Mexico. As Mexico qualified for the round of 16, the fans celebrated in such a way which caused a mini earthquake (around 2 magnitudes).

There were some people who brought arguments regarding which one receives the top place on the podium. Caplan-Auerbach clears the debate once and for all: “I will say Swifties have it in the bag. This was much bigger than the Beast Quake in terms of the raw amplitude of shaking, and it went on for a whole lot longer. Of course, the Beast Quake was a moment in time, but thus far the Swifties really have Seahawks fans beat.”

Even some fans claimed that they felt the earthquake. If you are a fan, you have an overwhelming reason to celebrate the fanbase as Taylor Swift continues to slay her way in the industry.
