Sometimes, timing simply refuses to favor an ambitious project. Koratala Siva’s upcoming film with Nandamuri Balakrishna, tentatively titled NBK112, is reportedly facing a massive roadblock, with industry buzz suggesting that the project could be shelved.

The film was recently launched with a formal pooja ceremony. It was carrying genuine hype and interest among audiences to see what Koratala Siva and Balakrishna could create together. However, the film is now said to be facing serious budget-related concerns.

NBK112 was reportedly planned on a massive budget of around Rs. 150 crores. Balakrishna is said to be hesitant about taking such a big financial risk, especially with the project’s scale. There are reportedly discussions about reducing the budget and reworking the film accordingly.

However, the budget may not be the only issue.

Industry sources suggest that there are also creative differences between Balakrishna and Koratala Siva. While budget concerns are being cited publicly, the bigger problem could reportedly be the lack of a proper creative sync between the hero and director.

There is no official confirmation that NBK112 has been shelved, and these reports are just industry speculation for now.

The uncertainty around NBK112 is shocking, as the director delivered a box-office success with Jr. NTR’s Devara. The film received plenty of trolling, particularly after its OTT release, with many viewers calling it a mediocre film. However, commercially, Devara performed well enough to be considered a HIT.

Koratala Siva was once regarded as one of the most reliable directors in Tollywood. Films such as Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Bharat Ane Nenu established him as a filmmaker capable of delivering both commercial success and strong star vehicles.

However, the disastrous result of Acharya destroyed that perception. Devara also failed to completely restore his reputation among audiences.

If NBK112 is indeed shelved, it would be another big setback for Koratala Siva at a time when he desperately needs a strong project to rebuild his position among Tollywood’s top directors.
