Tamil director Vishnuvardhan is well known to Telugu audiences, particularly for his work on the 2011 film Panjaa, which starred Pawan Kalyan.
While the film flopped at the box office, Vishnuvardhan successfully presented Pawan Kalyan in a stylish new avatar, with attention-grabbing action sequences and an overall sleek look that his fans appreciated.

However, the film’s storyline, which revolved around a single point, and the dialogues and situations surrounding it failed to connect with the audience, leading to its underperformance.
Interestingly, Panjaa was a remake of Pawan Kalyan’s earlier film Balu ABCDEFG, but beyond the visuals and action scenes, the film itself was fairly mediocre.

There have been speculations that Panjaa 2 might serve as a debut film for Pawan Kalyan’s son Akira Nandan. However, why would Akira Nandan want to debut with a sequel to a flop film.
It could potentially harm his career. Given that Panjaa had limited appeal, many believe it may not be the ideal choice for Akira’s first movie.

On a different note, Vishnuvardhan is also gearing up for the release of Premistaava, which is scheduled for January 31. To promote the film, he recently visited Hyderabad, where he took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on his Panjaa days.
Speaking about his experiences, Vishnuvardhan shared, “After Panjaa, I received offers from Telugu films, but I was busy with other projects at the time and couldn’t take them up. I do want to work with Akira, but I don’t make any plans in advance. I believe everything happens at the right time, and I just hope that opportunity comes my way.”
