Samantha Shocking Confession

Samantha Ruth Prabhu surprised everyone with her sultry item number Oo Antava in Pushpa: The Rise. Known for her sweet, demure roles, the bold move caught everyone’s attention.

But now, in a candid confession, Samantha has revealed why she really took on the song — and it wasn’t for the glamour or hype.

It wasn’t about looking hot — it was about proving something to herself. Despite the song becoming a huge hit, Samantha admitted she never saw herself as a “hot” or “desirable” woman. In fact, that was exactly why she took the role. She said..

“I, through my life, have never considered myself a good-looking, hot woman.”

She said the decision wasn’t about making a statement to the public — it was something more personal.

“As much as people learn to think that I do things to make statements for other people, I more often than not do it to challenge myself.”

Unlike popular perception, Samantha revealed the choreography in Oo Antava wasn’t even the focus. It was all about owning an energy that was new to her.

“It was not just about the dance. In fact, there weren’t even many steps. It was about the attitude and the fierce, confident, comfortable in her sexuality. All of these, I am not.”

Taking on the song was her way of stepping out of the “cute, bubbly” characters she usually played.

“I was always playing the cute, bubbly, next-door, demure. Who thinks of me for a special song where I look really hot?”

Samantha didn’t see Oo Antava as the start of a new direction in her career. For her, it was a one-time challenge — something she needed to do for herself, not for validation.

“So it was honestly a challenge to myself. And I was only going to do it once because it was just a challenge that I accepted and I went for it.”

At first glance, Oo Antava looked like a bold career move — but for Samantha, it was deeply personal.

It wasn’t about changing her image or chasing headlines. It was about doing something uncomfortable, something she never thought she could do.
