The Hyderabad City Police have a stern warning to social media handles and people who are spreading fake news on the Sandhya Theatre Stampede issue.

Yesterday, a video landed on social media stating that the deceased Revathi was taken out of Sandhya Theatre at 09.16 pm on December 4 and added that Allu Arjun entered the theatre after she was taken to the hospital.

The video went viral on social media, raising further speculations among many about the truth of the incident.

Responding to those videos, Hyderabad City Police’s official handle wrote, “We will take strict action if anyone posts false information or videos on social media that mislead people about the Sandhya Theater stampede incident.”

“It has come to our attention that some people posted false videos showing that the stampede took place before Allu Arjun arrived. The police department has already presented the facts learned during the investigation into this incident to the public in the form of a video,” the note read.

The department said that a few people are deliberately posting fake videos on social media to mislead people about the incident and warned that strict legal action would be taken against them.

The police department’s post read, “We will take any false propaganda defaming the police department very seriously. The police are investigating this case, which tragically resulted in the death of an innocent woman and impacted the life of a child, with utmost commitment. We will not tolerate the spread of false propaganda or fabrications on social media aimed at questioning this investigation.”

“Any citizen with evidence or additional information about this incident is encouraged to share it with the police department. However, we kindly request that no personal comments be made in this regard,” the note further added.




Meanwhile, the police department also appealed to people not to believe in such fake videos.
