Caste Only Criteria For Jagan

YS Jagan

Jagan Mohan Reddy is making big changes in the candidates list. So far fifty MLA candidates and nine MP candidates have been changed. We may expect one or two lists more which means there are going to be more changes in the future.

More than dropping the candidates, changing the constituencies has come as a big surprise. Astonishingly, Jagan believes that non-performing leaders can be put in other constituencies and their fate will change.

For example, Roja is facing problems in her own constituency, Nagari. Jagan wants to file her for Ongole Parliament. Nagari and Ongole are 368 Kilometers apart and Roja is completely new to Ongole politics. Jagan believes she will work because the Reddy community is dominant there.

Anil Kumar Yadav is facing severe anti-incumbency in Nellore Urban Constituency. Jagan is asking to contest from Narasaraopeta Parliament to impress the BC voters. Nellore and Narasaraopeta are 223 Kilometers apart.

There are similar experiments everywhere. Non-performing MLAs are being shifted to another place in accordance with caste equations.

But several questions remain unanswered. How can a candidate who is non-performing at one place become worthy to the voters of another place?

Is caste the only parameter for a candidate? Why should the local cadre and public accept some non-local candidate just because of the caste equations? Is that not an insult to the intellect of the voters?

This creativity will backfire, political experts say.
