The Mangalhat police detained three individuals, including Bharat Raj Reddy, the son of a prominent Member of Legislative Council (MLC), during an anti-narcotics raid in the Purana Pool area of Hyderabad.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding an illegal narcotics transaction, law enforcement officials set up a targeted surveillance operation at the location. During the raid, police intercepted the suspects and seized 24 grams of hash oil sachets along with 22 grams of ganja.
While Bharat Raj Reddy and his two associates, identified as Abhishek and Bottu Unit, were taken into custody and shifted to the police station, four other individuals involved in the transaction managed to escape from the scene.
A formal criminal case has been registered against the accused, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to trace the supply chain. Special police teams have been deployed to track down and apprehend the four absconding suspects.
This high-profile arrest comes amid an intensified statewide crackdown against drug trafficking and substance abuse, emphasising a strict law enforcement approach irrespective of the political background or influence of the individuals involved.
