Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated further during the night of May 8 to 9. While news updates continue to pour in from the Line of Control (LOC), Jammu & Kashmir, and the regions affected by Pakistan’s military attacks and shelling in Punjab, Jammu and Rajasthan, there has been a lot of fake news being spread online.
The PIB fact check has been already sharing on social media all the misinformation being circulated online. The most unfortunate matter is that this fake news is spread by none other than some media channels who were earlier considered the harbingers of truth!
Netizens are expressing their anger on social media while lashing out at these so-called news channels that are damaging journalism ethics greatly.
Here’s what one X user wrote, “All these news channels Republic, Zee, Aaj Tak, ABP have damaged the Journalism beyond repair.
Not a single news from these news channels are trustworthy.
News anchors don’t have basic sense on how to behave when the country is at war.”
Another one wrote, “When truth becomes a commodity, nations rot in silence.”

Apparently, one of the channels telecasted news about Pakistan’s capital Islamabad being already captured by India. Another one talked about the destruction of the Karachi Port, which is, actually, not the case.
