Will Pilli Contest as an Independent?

pilli-subhash-chandra-bose-JaganA rift has emerged within the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) as internal differences between leaders are intensifying in various constituencies. One particular headache for the YSRCP is the Ramachandrapuram constituency in Konaseema.

Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, a Rajya Sabha member who is considered an elder brother figure to YSRCP leaders in the joint East Godavari districts, has expressed his strong disapproval of his son’s entry into politics.

Bose is strategizing to secure the Ramachandrapuram Assembly ticket for his second son, Suryaprakash. As the administration is expected to announce Venu Gopalakrishna, a retired minister, as the YSRCP candidate for the constituency, Bose is sharpening his political strategies.

There are speculations that if Venu is given the ticket, Bose himself might contest as a rebel candidate. Meanwhile, both MP Bose and MP Mithun Reddy are serving as regional coordinators for the YSRCP in the joint district. Suryaprakash’s candidature from the Ramachandrapuram assembly constituency in the upcoming elections was officially announced in the presence of MP Bose.

A favorable muhurat (auspicious time) was chosen, and YSRCP cadres were called upon to campaign extensively and support Suryaprakash in strengthening his candidacy at the grassroots level. Minister Bose, who holds significant influence within the Shettibalija community, is deeply dissatisfied with Venu’s approach and style of functioning.
Despite belonging to the same social group, their differences have escalated to a significant level. Bose’s supporters are actively campaigning, stating that he is willing to part ways with the YSRCP and run as an independent candidate if the party awards the assembly ticket to Venu.
