The Thane Municipal Corporation regional disaster management cell swiftly deployed four fire tenders to combat the blaze.

According to Yasin Tadvi, the chief of the disaster management cell, the fire originated in the duct on the 8th floor, resulting in the destruction of plastic fitments. Remarkably, no casualties were reported, and all residents managed to evacuate safely.

The fire, believed to be caused by a short circuit, quickly extended to numerous apartments in the building. It also spread to the duct area, where fibre sheets were installed on each floor, complicating the firefighting efforts.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, residents’ quick evacuation was facilitated by the building’s occupancy only up to the third floor, as other owners were in the process of taking possession.

Firefighters successfully doused the flames an hour after deployment, with cooling operations currently underway. The incident highlights the importance of prompt response and coordinated efforts in averting potential disasters.

The incident underscores the need for stringent fire safety measures in high-rise structures. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fires, emphasizing the importance of preventive measures and vigilance to mitigate such disasters in the future.
